A Message for Our Supporters

COVID-19 Update by Ball Chair: HS1’s Dyan Crowther

We hope that you, your family, and friends are safe and well.

The Railway Ball and Railway Children are doing all we can to help vulnerable and marginalised children, impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

During the past months, we have continually been reviewing the viability of running this year’s Ball.  Sadly, due to the continuing uncertainty, we have decided to postpone the Ball to Friday 25 November 2022, returning to the InterContinental London – The O2.

It was not an easy decision, but our aim remains the same. To help children at risk at a time when they need it most. The postponement of this year’s Railway Ball to 2022, is clearly one of those times.

Loss of The Railway Ball 2021 income will create a financial hole of around £500,000 for Railway Children. This is catastrophic and the impact includes:

  • Preventing the charity from working with over 2,500 children
  • Closing projects

As you can appreciate it could take years to recover.

Our message to supporters of the Railway Ball and the Charity is: ‘Help Railway Children Survive’

We are asking our supporters, who are in a position to do so, to help either financially (by donating money they would have spent on the 2021 Ball) or through fundraising initiatives (within their organisations) to ensure Railway Children’s survival and support their fight to help some of the most disadvantaged children in the world.
