THE RAILWAY BALL

Making a huge difference for Railway Children

Railway Children has been fighting for the millions of children around the world that are forced to survive a life on streets and railway stations for over 20 years. They’ve already helped over 300,000 children, who had no one else to protect them. But they’re only just getting started and can’t do it alone.

Last year, thanks to The Railway Ball, Railway Children:

  • Reached 3,254 children living on the streets in East Africa where they face constant violence and abuse
  • Protected 8,338 children found alone and at risk of trafficking and exploitation at railway stations in India
  • Dealt with 685 referrals from British Transport Police of children identified as being in danger on our UK rail network.

We couldn’t have done any of this without UK Rail’s continued support. But we’re not stopping there. Railway Children are planning to expand their work, covering new territories and reaching even more children. Their UK projects are going from strength to strength, with Manchester and London bases firmly established, and plans to expand to three new locations; as part of the charity’s long term vision of creating a national safety network for children in the UK. Railway Children need The Railway Ball, and the industry as a whole, to help make this vision a reality

Join our fight for the children that need us and together we can change their lives.
